A husband proudly showed off his humble house, which was a product of his hard-earned savings.
Where do you spend your extra money? For Henry Togot, he saved it all up to build his family their own house. Instead of applying for a house loan, Henry took on several side hustles to save. When he was finally able to have P50,000, he decided to work on his goal.
On Facebook, Russel Simorio shared photos of Henry and his wife, Rejeen’s house project. Henry’s P50,000 savings was enough to build his family a house of their own.
How far can your P50,000 go in building a house?
In the photos it can be seen that he used hollow blocks, cement and plywood. With his own hard work, Henry was able to finish his house in 25 days.
Henry proudly shared while his house may be small, he was able to maximize the space.
The total floor area of the house is 14×16 feet. It has one bedroom, a living room, kitchen and a terrace. It also had an air-conditioning unit to keep the space inside cool.
They also placed potted plants throughout the house to make it appear more lively. The walls were white, with jalousie windows.
The caption of the post goes, “Dream come true para sa amang si Henry ang pagpapatayo niya ng bahay para sa kanyang pamilya lalo sa kanyang dalawang anak. Nag-ipon siya ng 50,000 pesos para magpatayo ng bahay sa pa-ekstra ekstra lang sa trabaho.”
“May gusto may paraan, kung ayaw may dahilan. Nasa sikap at pagpupursige ‘yan para makapagpatayo ng bahay. Maliit man, komportable naman! Congrats Henry at Rejeen Tugot,” the caption added.
Seems impossible in the metro
Many people lauded the simple house. Many people believe that owning a home, no matter how modest it appears to be, is preferable than renting. Staying in your own home gives your family more financial and emotional support.
Others claimed that building a P50,000 house in the province was possible, but impossible in the city. When the house is in a city, Henry’s budget will only allow him to repair his comfort rooms.
